Voiles de Légende Dunkerque 2025

From 10 to 13 July 2025, we will be celebrating our maritime identity by hosting The Tall Ships Races Dunkerque, which will bring more than 600,000 visitors and 2,000 sailors to Dunkirk. Around fifty exceptional yachts are expected to take part, including the Mexican Cuauhtémoc, the Polish Dar Mlodziecky and the Norwegian Christian Radich.

To mark the occasion, we will be giving 200 young people from the Dunkirk area the chance to become apprentice sailors and take part in one of the two 'Dunkirk' legs of the race: Le Havre - Dunkirk or Dunkirk - Aberdeen. This immersive experience illustrates the spirit of our Odyssey community programme, which invites young Dunkirkers to discover the world.

In doing so, we are reaffirming our commitment to young people and to passing on the maritime values so dear to Dunkirk's identity. At the same time, the themed village will highlight subjects such as ecology, seafaring professions, heritage and boating.

The Tall Ships Race celebrates international friendship, learning and openness to the world through sailing. This exceptional event is a great showcase for the conurbation and promises excellent economic benefits for our traders and craftsmen.
